Seaside Support Services was established in 2020 after we recognised a growing need for people living with a disability to have a home away from home where they can explore new experiences and be part of a supportive and connected community. We exist to offer unique disability respite care on the Sunshine Coast, in an environment that ensues trust and contentment so you can relax.

From our three-bedroom facility, our vision is to provide a disability support service like no other, where no suggestion is off the table. We strongly encourage your loved one to share their dreams and goals with us and from there, we will create a plan to help them accomplish not just that, but so much more.

Prior to starting our own family, we provided weekend respite care for families in our home while running our farming property. Fast forward a few years and four children later, the opportunity arose to move our family to the Sunshine Coast. Here, we were both able to go back to one of our first loves and huge interests: working with people with disabilities and offering tailored respite support to help them live life to the fullest.

Today, we collectively have over eight years of experience caring for those living with a disability and have a driving passion to make sure everyone has the opportunity to experience all that life has to offer. Our backgrounds as a disability support worker/mentor and as a special education teacher have led us on an incredible journey and left us with a desire to do and share more.

We firmly believe that with the right people beside them, everyone can achieve their dreams and that’s what Seaside Support Services is all about.

Mother of four, with a long history of working in special education and respite, Bec is the Mumma Bear of Seaside Support Services. Bec has an amazing ability to engage and connect with younger children, whether it’s just having fun or teaching new skills.

Crosby is the King of Cuddles. He loves nothing more than going on beach walks, chasing balls and snuggling up for cuddle-time. Anyone that plays with him will have a friend for life.

Crosby lives offsite but is available at any time.

What ages do you support at Seaside Support Service?

Our disability support is aimed at people 7–65 years of age. We will, however, happily discuss options for anyone outside this age range. Please contact us 0427655369 or info@seasidesupportservices.com.au

How many carers to people do you support?

As standard, we offer one carer to every two people we provide respite support to. However, one on one care can easily be arranged if needed or preferred.

Where are you located?

We are located in Buderim on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, approximately 1.5 hours north from of Brisbane City.

What is the minimum and maximum number of nights you can have one person in care?

We can accommodate clients from one night through to 14 nights depending on what type of respite your family is requiring.

Do you have a pickup and drop off service?

Yes, we do. There is an additional fee associated with this so please contact us to discuss your requirements. From there we can provide you with the exact costing.

What kind of activities do you run?

You name it, we can run it. Our standard activities, however, include swimming, fishing, surfing, basketball, standup paddle boarding, day trips to the zoo or theme parks plus house activities such as board games, air hockey, yoga, and so much more. All activities can be tailored to suit a range of disabilities. Visit our Services page to see more.

What if my loved one can’t participate in all the activities?

Our care is tailored exactly to the needs of your loved one. Regardless of ability, we will be sure to find amazing activities for them to participate in.

Do you cater for all types of disabilities?

Our current facility is low care. We are happy to discuss any needs or requirements that clients may have and accommodate wherever possible.

What does it cost and what is included?

All short-term accommodation respite includes meals and ample activities. Activities such as trips to the zoo, movies, theme parks etc. are extra, but will be clearly communicated with you prior to the visit. What happens in the case of an emergency, either with me or my loved one?

We are contactable 24/7 and our home has policies and procedures in place to give you peace of mind in the case of an emergency.

Are you open all year round?

Yes, Seaside Support Service is available all year round for day support services and short-term accommodation respite.
